AntiSpySpider Sounds Creepy, And It Is

Written by OSAblog on Tuesday, September 1st, 2009

AntiSpySpider is a rogue security program that masquerades as a legitimate antispyware tool. This program usually installs with the help of vicious trojans such as Zlob and Vundo, and is created by hackers who want to trick you, so that you will spend money on their useless product. This is malware, which puts your PC and personal information in jeopardy.

There are hundreds if not thousands of malicious applications out in cyberspace that are similar to this one. Hackers design these programs, and advertise aggressively toward users warning them of severe security threats that exist on their computer. If the user is gullible and falls for the free scan, they are essentially placing this malware on their computer themselves. Otherwise, it can be installed by practicing unsafe surfing habits, sharing files, or downloading programs like music, games and freeware.

AntiSpySpider will display the results to any user who does download the scan, but these results are completely fabricated. This rogue cannot scan your computer, and it cannot detect or remove any threat at all. It is simply a ruse to get the user to purchase the product in order to rid their PC of these supposed infections. What it may do is add additional malware, and modify or disable system files that are crucial for your computer to work well.

If you notice that your PC has become slow, is freezing, or that you are getting bombarded by constant pop-up ads and security alerts, most likely it is due to malware. This software can collect private information about you, and is a threat to the health of your computer. It is highly recommended that you remove AntiSpySpider or any other rogue as soon as it is detected. Manual removal is not advised, due to the risk of severe damage to your PC.

Practice safe browsing habits, and avoid clicking on links in spam emails or downloading programs that seem a little suspicious. If you do get infected with a rogue, simply use a reputable antispyware tool that guarantees to remove 100% of parasites and other security threats automatically. It is your best defense, and will protect you from further infections.
