Antivirus Number 1 – Boring Name, Dangerous Application
Antivirus Number 1 is a bogus antispyware application that is malicious and can cause numerous problems, as well as damage to your pc. Like its predecessors Anti-Virus-1 and Antivirus 2010, this program usually installs on your pc through trojans. The threat level of this program to your pc is critical, so it should be removed immediately.
Like most other fake security applications, Antivirus Number 1 displays frightening alerts to the user. You may see “Internal Conflict Alert” or “Privacy Violation Alert” pop up on your screen. This is just another attempt to scare the user in to downloading their scanner to detect infections and remove them. At this point, they will want your money in order to perform a scan that they declare will restore security. This is a lie.
This application cannot detect security threats, nor can it remove them. The messages that are sent to the user are made up, and there may actually be no threats or infections at all residing on your computer. The program itself does need to be removed with reliable antispyware software. If left on your pc, it will drive you crazy with pop-up alerts and a noticeable slowing of your computer.
Antivirus Number 1 is configured to run automatically when the operating system starts up. It may hijack your browser, so that when you attempt to visit websites you can’t. It will state that the website is unavailable. Any malicious programs such as this one should be removed as soon as you suspect you have a problem, as they can be a threat not only to your pc but your personal identity as well.
Most rogue applications such as this one track your online surfing habits. They can collect information about your interests, search queries and the websites you visit. Many will also collect personal data like passwords, credit card numbers and other private online business information. Some can cause your computer to crash, or become totally disabled. When you get messages concerning the security of your pc through pop-up windows, try to exit if at all possible.
Can Antivirus Number 1 be removed manually? Only by an expert, manual removal leaves much room for mistakes, which will cause even further damage to your pc. Certain files must be deleted, and frequently many files associated with these programs are hidden from the user. When files are missed upon removal or the wrong files are removed, it can cause problems that may not be fixable. Removal with an authentic antispyware tool is indicated as a solution for this problem.
When you believe that this application or another rogue program resides on your pc, remove it immediately to avoid further problems. The only antispyware tool I would settle for is one guaranteed to work on 100% of all spyware. Ask if the antispyware program you’re considering will guarantee satisfaction or your money back.
