AvCare Doesn’t Care About the Security of Your PC

Written by OSAblog on Friday, August 14th, 2009

AvCare is a rogue security program that sneaks through the backdoor and places itself on the user’s computer without their knowledge. This application will advertise itself to the user as a legitimate antispyware tool capable of detecting and removing trojans, parasites and other security threats. Like most other malware, this one is created by hackers with the intent to fool you into purchasing a useless product.

This program advertises that security threats exist over and over again through pop-up alerts. This is done so that hopefully the user will become so concerned over the security of their computer, they will download the scan that is offered. Once this is done, the user will see the results of the scan, and supposedly which files are infected. These results are false, as AvCare has no ability to scan your PC. Therefore, it cannot detect parasites or security threats, and it certainly cannot remove them.

Malware like this has the ability to place even more infections on your PC, which will affect the performance of your computer. You may notice that your system is running slow, or that your browser redirects to unknown websites. Incessant pop-up ads are another annoyance. The reason that your system performs poorly is that malware eats up your system resources, because it continually runs in the background.

AvCare may also collect information about you and what you do online. The searches you perform, your passwords, credit card information and other business data may be at risk. Once collected, this information is often sold to third parties who will then advertise to you through pop-up ads and spam emails. Remove this malware as soon as you detect its existence, to protect your PC and personal information from further risk.

Manual removal of malware can be done, but it is a complex procedure that is better avoided. All related files and values must be detected and deleted, which is a difficult process because of the files ability to hide from the user. If not done properly, manual removal may lead to severe damage of your PC. To remove AvCare and all other parasites, use a legitimate antispyware tool that guarantees 100% removal of all traces of infections with only one scan.
