Contraviro Only Offers Chaos, When You Really Need Piece Of Mind

Written by OSAblog on Thursday, July 16th, 2009

If the world’s computer users would just install reliable virus and malware protection then rogue applications like Contraviro would simple fade into extinction. The only reason the Internet is inundated with so many rogue applications is that they are tremendously profitable for scammers. By preventing these infections from ever making it onto the computer, users could completely avoid the scam.

If you have ever been infected with a rogue application you would understand just how frustrating it can be, especially if the end result is having to reinstall Windows and all the other programs you frequently use. This is not the way you want to spend the weekend, or for that matter any evening.

As with most rogue applications, Contraviro usually uses Trojans to infect computers. These Trojans can typically get past some types of virus protection and once they do they start installing other types of malware. It can be very easy for some of these Trojans to bypass standard virus protection software, usually it is done through ActiveX protocols, but in some cases Trojans can infect computers simple because the user went to the wrong website.

The worst part about this infection is the time it can take to clean up the mess. Some people have reported that every time they thought they had removed the infection, they would realize that it was back once they restarted their machine. This is a common problem with most rogue applications and the best way to prevent this issue is to be properly protected from the start.

Another common similarity with rogue applications is all the bogus scans that are supposedly reporting threats. One thing that all computer users should know and remember is that no legitimate protection product will ever tell the user they have to pay for a program that mysteriously installs itself on their computer. In most cases all the threats that a rogue application lists are really system files that keep the computer running.

If you want to insure that your computer is fully protected from all kinds of real threats then you want to have several programs that you installed to stop these problems. One virus protection program is not enough, computer users should also have a fully guarantee malware program installed. Only with a malware protection program that is 100% guaranteed can give you much needed piece of mind, in this currently unsafe world of computing.
