VirusBye is a rogue security program that presents itself as a reliable security tool to the user. As with most other malicious software applications, this one displays exaggerated security threat alerts in order to frighten the user into purchasing the product to solve their problem, which usually does not even exist. If you get these alerts, avoid downloading the free scan!
This bogus program will pretend to scan your PC if you download it, then display the supposed results to you. These results are completely made up, because VirusBye has no ability to scan your PC. It is a totally useless product, designed by hackers to steal your money. In fact, you should remove this program as it is an infection itself that may cause many problems. It is highly risky to the health of your computer!
Where does it come from? Most of these fake antispyware applications are downloaded without your knowledge or consent, when you download other programs such as music or games. It may come from visiting questionable websites or spam emails as well. You may even get it from the site itself if you do not realize that it is bogus, and download the scan. You don’t know the moment it installs, but you will notice the symptoms shortly thereafter. A slow running PC, pop-up ads, browser redirection and general sluggishness are the classic signs.
VirusBye, like most other rogue security programs, will affect your operating system. These applications run continuously in the background, and take up large amounts of your system resources. They may also disable files that are necessary for your PC to function properly. Malware may collect information about your online activities, including personal data such as passwords and credit card numbers.
You may decide to remove this infection manually, but it is a very difficult process. It is crucial that you locate all related files and delete them, which may sound easy but it actually is not. These files can easily hide from you, making them impossible to detect. To remove parasites like this one, you need a reputable antispyware program designed for this purpose. These programs will remove spyware and other parasites automatically, leaving your security completely intact once again.
