How To Protect Yourself From Computer Viruses

Viruses are among one of the most common problems with operating systems and softwares today. Virus is a type of software that “infects” a computer. Viruses can be a simple prank–an annoying pop-up message or blue screen, for instance–but too often a virus is a malicious attempt to outright destroy data and programs. Viruses can not only threaten your privacy, they can reduce your computer’s performance and even disable your computer. To protect your PC from virus attack you have to install antivirus software and update on regularly.

There are several different types of viruses, but they all have a common threat that you should remember: Viruses aren’t actually attached to data; they must be run in some form to infect a pc or its data. Viruses can infect and destroy immediately, or can get triggered on a specifiec date. They can affect single desktops, or spread to entire networks, servers and websites.

Infected disk;s, Network sharing, Internet, web downloads, and e-mail attachments are the most common ways for viruses to enter your computer system.

Here are some signs that your system might be infected:

If your computer runs consistently more slowly than normal.
If your computer Stops responding or locks up often.
Restarts on tis won and then fails to run normally.
Applications don’t work properly.
If you see unusual error messages.
If you see distorted menus and dialog boxes.
Strange behavior with you email program.
These are common signs of computer infection. Now here are some ways to protect yourself from computer viruses:

First, use a high quality anti-virus program. There are many different anti_virus computer programes in the market some of them are better than others. You can take guidence some technical support person or go through computer magazines or websites for ratings to help you find the one that matches your need.

Secondly, make sure your anti-virus software is always turned on and scanning incoming and outgoin email messages, or any software program that runs on your computer system.
