PC Anti Malware is a Rogue
There are so many different areas that an average computer and Internet user must be suspicious of in their day to day use that it can seem really overwhelming. One of the most crucial of these areas is learning to identify and avoid rogue antispyware programs such as PC Anti Malware. These programs are designed with the sole purpose of scamming you out of your money, but with a bit of knowledge and the proper tools, you can increase your ability to dodge the bullet exponentially.
Rogue antispyware is characterized by making false claims that the program in question is a legitimate antispyware tool, when in actuality it is spyware itself. While users can be infected by manually downloading programs like PC Anti Malware, it is more common for infection to occur via a Zlob Trojan that is disguised as ActiveX video codec. Once on the machine, the tricks are almost always the same.
PC Anti Malware will start by running a series of fake scans and then barraging the user with pop ups and fake security alerts claiming that it has found numerous malicious threats residing on the user’s machine. Despite the fact that both the scan and the results list are false, the sheer number of warnings that the user receives is quite alarming and is the impetuous behind the user pulling out their credit card following the program’s claim that they must buy the full version of PC Anti Malware in order to ensure their computer’s safety.
Unfortunately, the results of this action at best consist of the loss of the user’s money and at worst, the theft of their credit card information. Not to mention that the computer is still riddled with spyware, causing it to perform worse and worse as the days go by. PC Anti Malware harms computer function due to its hogging of processing and bandwidth resources, translated as a hijacked browser and an extremely unresponsive machine.
Clearly, if you are infected with PC Anti Malware or any rogue of its ilk, you should take measure to remove it immediately. You can do this manually by removing the program’s files, deleting its registry entries, killing its processes, blocking its sites, and unregistering its DLLs. This can be extensive, time consuming, and highly frustrating labor due to the fact that PC Anti Malware hides its files all over your machine and searching for them amidst your computer’s most critical files can be akin to walking through a mine field just hoping the something doesn’t blow up.
A much safer and more effective method is to simply install legitimate antispyware tools to remove PC Anti Malware and any other malware for you. You want to make sure that the program you choose guarantees 100% removal of all threats and provides a money back guarantee if you are not satisfied.
Furthermore, you want to ensure that you are not simply dealing with another rogue by looking for legitimacy markers such as awards for outstanding service from reputable places or memberships with upstanding organizations like the Better Business Bureau.
Getting a legitimate antispyware tool and knowing the signs of infection will go a long way toward ensuring the continued health of your PC and personal information!
