PC Privacy Defender is Another Scam
There are many kinds of malicious software out there that are threatening your computer’s safety. Some of them only seek to spy on you while others just want to give you pop-up ads. Others seek to infiltrate your computer so that they can download other infectious threats without your knowledge. Then there are programs like PC Privacy Defender that don’t just harm your computer, but they try to trick you into spending your money on their worthless products.
PC Privacy Defender is a rogue security application, which means that it pretends to be a genuine security program when it is not. Not only does it pretend to be legitimate, but it uses very unethical means of promoting itself. It uses Trojan horse infections in order to weasel its way onto computer. The Trojans will secretly infect a computer and then download PC Privacy Defender without the user’s knowledge or permission.
Once PC Privacy Defender has been installed onto a computer, the user will be harassed with fake security messages and pop-ups. These will all be used in order to scare the infected user into allowing a scan to be performed. If allowed, PC Privacy Defender will then initiate a phony, yet convincing, scan that will inevitably end with a list of imaginary results.
The fraudulent results are just another scare tactic used by PC Privacy Defender. The user will be pressured into paying for a registered version of the program in order to have the threats removed. However, the full version of PC Privacy Defender is a complete waste of money. It doesn’t protect a computer at all, either from already existing threats or future ones.
On top of not offering aid to help the computer, PC Privacy Defender will actually cause harm to that computer. The phony program will hinder the computer’s performance dramatically and will even slow down the Internet connection. PC Privacy Defender may also cause pop-up ads and download other malicious software. Due to this severely inappropriate behavior, it should be removed from a computer at the first sight of its presence.
In order to properly remove PC Privacy Defender manually, a person would need to spend an awful long time at their computer. There are dozens upon dozens of files that would need to be deleted, as well as folders and the Trojan horse that downloaded PC Privacy Defender in the first place. If the Trojan isn’t removed, then the rogue security application could simply be re-downloaded.
If your computer has been infected with PC Privacy Defender, then you should find a genuine antispyware program that you can trust. It will be able to remove malicious threats in minutes when it would take you hours to do the same. When looking for a reliable antispyware program, you should make sure that the one you buy is guaranteed to remove 100% of spyware. Complete protection is very important to your computer’s safety. If the antispyware you get doesn’t guarantee complete removal, then it isn’t worth buying.
