Written by OSAblog on Monday, April 20th, 2009

In order to go about removing malware, you first will need to know what malware is. Basically, malware is a malicious piece of software that has been designed for no other intention than to damage or spy on your computer without your knowledge. There are several different types of malware that you will want to remove from your computer.

Removing malware from your computer should include removing the following:

  • 1. Adware is something that will show pop up ads for products and is more annoying than harmful.
  • 2. A virus, trojan or worm is also considered to be a form of malware.
  • 3. Ransome ware is meant to lock up your computer so that it can extort money from you.
  • 4. Spyware monitors and records all of your keyboard actions, Internet activity and personal details.

You will know that it is time for removing malware whenever your computer slows down a lot. Your computer may also act erratic and be unstable.

Removing malware is important because you can easily get it from an unknown email that you do not scan before opening; a web site where malware is hidden in the code; from file sharing because the other person has hidden malware in their files and from sharing files via instant messaging. Malaware software is hard to remove, many of them will reinstall themselves and hide within windows system files, pretending to be good system file.

Besides simply removing malware, there are also ways in which you can prevent being infected by it in the first place. You can use such things as Internet Securities Software, a firewall and Windows update.

Removing malware is even more important if you want to visit any form of adult content. This is because a lot of the people who go to these sites do not have any morals.

Beside installing Internet Securities Software, Firewall or Window update, the best defense to remove Malware comes from user. Be alert when surfing on net, visit trusted sites, avoid file sharing, avoid opening attachments from strangers. Even if you have got attachments from known person, call them and confirm the delivery. Avoid download music or games from not trusted sites. Religiously scan your computer and take regular backup. These precautions ensure you will keep your system in check and avoid attacks from internet hackers or virus getting installed on your system.
