Some Might Say That Antivirus 2009 Is the Worst Rogue Application Around

Written by OSAblog on Tuesday, July 7th, 2009

Those out there that have been infected with Antivirus 2009 should not feel like they are alone. Of all the rogue application polluting the Internet, Antivirus 2009 is just one of nearly four hundred different bogus programs that are designed to scare people into giving up their hard earned money.

Out of the nearly four hundred rogue applications that can infect computers, Antivirus 2009 is also just a clone of thirty other rogues that are almost identical, except for a name change. The scammers behind Antivirus 2009 have also created 30 other rogue applications which are variants of the MS Antivirus family.

For more information on Antivirus 2009 and the others in the MS Antivirus group you can go to the Wikipedia page at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MS_Antivirus. The information contained on Wikipedia does not detail how to remove this rogue, but it does have great information on its history.

There are several reasons why this particular rogue application has its own Wikipedia page. For one, there are not that many truly dangerous rogue applications on the Internet, but this one is. What makes this one dangerous is the trojans that are associated with it. These trojans can really mess up a computer’s file system, as well as the registry.

Once installed it will also bypass most virus protection programs and can also start before everything else on the computer giving the user fake blue screens of death in an attempt to scare the user into sending money to stop it. Why would somebody do this? The simple answer is money.

It is believed that the developers of this parasite have made upwards of $158,000.00 a week scamming people into paying to this bogus software. Considering that there are fewer than a dozen people typically involved in these types of scams, there is a lot of money per week to divide up among the scammers.

Now, it is possible to remove Antivirus 2009 manually, but unless you really know what you are doing you are better off get the help of a reliable malware removal program. When looking for a trusted malware removal program, you should be very careful and do some research. Look for one that is 100% guaranteed to get rid of Antivirus 2009, as well as all the other know rogue applications that are causing havoc on the Internet. With just a little research it should not be that hard to find a malware removal and protection program that is 100% guaranteed.
