Spyware Isolator is a Rogue Security Application That Should Be Avoided

Written by OSAblog on Friday, June 5th, 2009

Spyware Isolator is a rogue antispyware application that displays security warnings in an attempt to frighten the user into believing that threats and infections reside on their PC. These messages are totally fake. If you receive popup warnings of this sort, exit if possible and do not download the scan. Doing so may place additional malware on your computer.

To most average users, these warnings look very real. What will happen if Spyware Isolator does get installed on your PC? It will perform the fake scan, then display the results to you. The results of course will be that your computer has such severe threats and infections that you must purchase the full product in order to get complete removal. This is a waste of money, as this application cannot detect or remove anything from your computer.

How do you get malicious software like this installed to begin with? Trojans are usually the culprit. They will install on your PC from questionable websites you visit, or through downloading programs like freeware and shareware. Often, using programs on shared networks can be unsafe. However you get it, you must remove it as soon as you recognize there is a problem.

Some of the common signs of having Spyware Isolator or some other bogus software installed on your computer include a slowing of your PC and perhaps a changed homepage. You may also notice that there are new shortcuts placed on your desktop, and that your browser redirects to strange websites. Annoying pop-up ads will be displayed constantly, sometimes so often that it is difficult to do anything else while online because you are too busy exiting pop-up ads.

Why is it undesirable to have these rogue security applications installed on your PC? They can gain access to nearly everything you do. Your search queries, websites you visit, private passwords and even credit card numbers cannot hide from these dangerous programs. The safety of your computer is at risk, as well as your personal identity. This is why it is urgent that you remove this software promptly.

Can Spyware Isolator be removed manually? It is possible, but you should not attempt this process unless you are an expert. Every running process must be killed, and related files completely deleted. This is not an easy task for the average PC user, and performing the process incorrectly will likely cause additional damage to your computer. Files often hide from you, so that you cannot detect and delete them.

The recommended action when you have a problem is to use a reliable antispyware tool. A good one will scan your PC for worms, trojans, viruses and other parasites. Once detected, it will remove them completely and restore security. The best solution is to get a reliable product that is guaranteed to remove 100% of infections with only one scan, so that you can avoid having to purchase an additional product to complete the process.
