Windows Antivirus Pro is a Fake Antispyware Program
Don’t let Windows Antivirus Pro fool you. Although the security warnings that are displayed to you look very convincing and real, it is simply a ploy to take your money. These malicious applications usually use trojans to infiltrate your system. You will be bombarded with pop-up displays alerting you to security threats constantly. This is simply a rogue.
If you get messages from this program stating that there are security threats on your computer, do not be gullible and download the free scan they offer. Once you do, you can be certain that spyware has been placed on your PC. When Windows Antivirus Pro displays the results of this scan, it will show you the files that are supposedly infected, and try to persuade you to purchase the product so that it may remove these threats. This product cannot detect anything, so the results they show are fabricated to begin with. Of course, it cannot remove anything either.
Most of these rogue security programs have the ability to track your online activities. They may gain access to your personal passwords, credit card information and other business data. In addition, they run continuously in the background on start up of your PC. This causes your computer to become slow, or it may freeze. You will notice that pop-up ads become unbearable, and your browser may redirect as well.
If you did not download the free scan, you may have contracted Windows Antivirus Pro another way. This often happens when you download files such as games, messengers, videos or freeware. It may also have come from visiting an unknown website that was not secure, or a link in a spam email. However you got it, it must be removed to prevent further security infiltration and possible damage to your PC.
You should not attempt to remove this rogue manually, as there is a real danger of causing severe damage to your computer when not done properly. The best solution to remove this program and any other parasites or infections you may have is to get a reputable antispyware tool that guarantees 100% removal, and protects your PC from future infections and security threats.
